No, Rob, I don't know anything you don't. This all stemmed from a conversation I had with my son the other night. We were talking about the time The Daily Star dropped Beau. (I was surprised he remembered as he was only about 8 at the time). Anyway, I reckoned that, if it happened again, I just wouldn't have the energy to fight it----and what a wonderful opportunity to go out gloriously!
Then again if, two weeks after it was dropped, another paper came in with a huge offer, it would all have been a dream and Beau would emerge, dripping, from the shower....

Reminds me off the Saturday picture show when Kit Carson died every week but appeared two reels back the following week having survived

Good point. Okay, let him die then.

I've got a great idea for a new strip you could do, Roger. Something based on a period costume drama kind of setting.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

Roger, have you ever considered writing Beau Peep, the pantomime? There are so many elements that would make it work superbly well, I think...and the more I think about it, the better it sounds. Not sure the death scene would work though.

Or have I seen 'The Producers' once too often?
I apologise, in advance.

That fateful day is coming up for 10 years ago, December 27th 1997, and this was the strip:

At least there was was no bloodshed.

Peter, I think I know what you're TRYING to say---it's the "appearing two reels back the following week" that throws me.
