RGB = Red Green Blue; HSL = Hue, Saturlation, Luminance; they are on all colour pickers. Usually you would lighten the brown colour by increasing the luminance.

That's all style sheets are about. Each element of the forum has a style (fonts, colours, backgrounds). Just Google them to find out how they work.

Here is the whole style sheet for the current theme:

/* Normal, standard links. */
a:link
{
   color: #476C8E;
   text-decoration: none;
}
a:visited
{
   color: #476C8E;
   text-decoration: none;
}
a:hover
{
   text-decoration: underline;
}

/* Navigation links - for the link tree. */
.nav, .nav:link, .nav:visited
{
   color: #000000;
   text-decoration: none;
}
a.nav:hover
{
   color: #cc3333;
   text-decoration: underline;
}

/* Tables should show empty cells. */
table
{
   empty-cells: show;
}

/* By default (td, body..) use verdana in black. */
body, td, th , tr
{
   color: #000000;

}

/* The main body of the entire forum. */
body
{

   margin: 0px;
   padding: 12px 30px 4px 30px;
}

/* Input boxes - just a bit smaller than normal so they align well. */
input, textarea, button

That's all style sheets are about. Each element of the forum has a style (fonts, colours, backgrounds). Just Google them to find out how they work.

Good grief - the irritating little git has made himself irreplacable with his HTML doohickies - too bad the brown is still shitty.

Yes, it's not the degree of luminance of brown we want tweaking, Mince - it's the friggin' colour itself.

I thought your style-sheet code was another of Peter's poems at first.

We need to change the yellow background image first. Perhaps a blue background would work.

The yellow's fine, Mincey. Is it a huge task to change the brown?

No, it isn't. You just need to change a few images and the colours in the style sheet. But I don't have the time.
