Have you seen your Mince today? I believe he was a little shook up last night. Sadly, the earth failed to move for me, yet again.  :-\
I apologise, in advance.

Dead to the world if you had been a little nearer like Market Rasen or Newark you would have felt the earth move more than all your love making.

So what was it like, Peter? (The earthquake, not the love-making). Was their any damage? (Once again, the earthquake).

It was odd at first it felt and sounded like a big lorry passing your house but it just went on and on for about 10 seconds.  get someone to time you close your eyes for ten seconds but also begin shaking.

Yes, was their any damage, Peter? I must say it didn't affect us here. Rothesay's built on the Highland Boundary Fault, by the way.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

No structural damage just frayed nerves it is weird, you sit through it knowing you cant do anything and that seems odd.
I was still awake one hour later still waiting for the next one.

Sounds pretty scary, Peter. When I was a tiny kid, I lived in Haiti and, I believe, we lived through several spectacular earthquakes. I remember nothing about them, other than what my mother told me. Maybe my sister, Diamond Lil, remembers more.

Does that make you an honorary faulty Highland boundar, Peepsie?
I apologise, in advance.

I was just settling down after posting my gibberish in the thread thread when I started to wobble, with the headboard banging against the wall and a kind of rippling noise went through the wall. As I was so relaxed, I knew instantly that it was an earthquake.

After a short while I forced myself up to have a look at the USGS site who confirmed what I already knew. I then spent the next hour or so watching the BBC News and Sky News as I couldn't sleep expecting an aftershock.

I'm feeling quite tired now.

Damn.

But if you take "any" as a noun, it kind of makes sense.

Was their "any" damage?

Compare this to:

Was their cheese Cheddar?

Help me out here Roger.
