A genuine conversation.
« on: February 29, 2008, 06:28:16 PM »
A friend of mine runs a post office. One of his customers was having trouble remembering his pin number and my friend, Alan, was trying to help him out. The conversation went like this...
Alan: Bobby, what year were you born? (It's common for people to use this).
Bobby: I think it was 1922.
Alan: That would make you 86. Bobby, you're NOT 86!
Bobby: No, I'm 52---I'll be 56 next year.

Names have been changed.

Was Bobby's real name Mince?
I apologise, in advance.

Roger, why didn't you help out the elderly gentleman? Think about it. It could have been Tarquin.

Look, pay attention, Mincey. I wasn't there. My FRIEND was there. And I know what Tarks looks like.
That was just a stupid post.

(a) Good news you've got a friend, Roger.
(b) It wasn't your most stupid post, if it's any consolation.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

Tarquin's going to be elderly before me. I'm just getting into practice.

And paying attention would mean actually reading your posts.

Peeps implies that I've got no friends and Mince doesn't bother reading my posts. You know, just because I'm damned good looking doesn't mean I don't feel pain.

I place a lot of importance on my friends, Ronnie, and you're certainly one, believe me.

Kick me when I'm down. I would NEVER think of someone else when I was with you.
