I feel for you, Roger - is it still happening?  Sounds to me like your computer didn't shut down properly one time.  Best advice I can give is same as others - make sure you've got all your documents and emails backed up (copied to CD, DVD, external drive, or somewhere other than your computer).

If you don't have too many large files, you may get away with just having a good sized dongle.

That won't help access the antil strope though, Mince. A fanta-byte setting could be all that's adrift. Unplugging the DTK cord, waiting 23 seconds, then re-inserting, (with a finger on the alt key) would be enough then.

I tried all of that, and now I've got the same problem as Roger.

I tried all of that, and now I've got the same problem as Roger.
