A walk in the past.
« on: August 30, 2008, 09:34:59 PM »
Tarks, remember the Dens Road market?
I walked up to Tannadice Park today to watch Dundee United lose to Kilmarnock. (We need say nothing more about that).
Anyway, as I was a bit early, I popped into a market that has been there for years. It's amazing. It's the land that time forgot and it's wonderful. I could have bought a knitting machine, a cocktail cabinet, a gramophone player and an Elkie Brooks L.P. Whenever I look round these places, I make a point of checking out the books. In these places, there are ALWAYS copies of "Papillon" and "Hotel" available and I have no idea why. Didn't see any Beau Peep books but I'm now the proud owner of a radio/alarm clock/tea-maker.

You took a Teasmaid into Tannadice on a match day, Roger? I don't know where to begin...
I apologise, in advance.

I remember my parents getting a teasmaid in the 70s - they were very proud of it.  WHat you need now is one of those light, quilted satinette bedspreads to go with it.

When are you going back for the knitting machine? If you and your friends wore team scaves maybe Dundee United would win!

Dundee United don't always lose, Diane!

I remember, when teasmade's were fashionable, them winning a game.

I just remembered one of the first cartoons I ever did. Must have been around 30 years ago!

I just found it on Cartoonstock.

What are they that are in the bed Nige? Sheep?

And here is a question that has been bugging me - how did shepherds stay awake?

Is this a ruse to get Nigel to say "counting sheep?". If so, I'm sorry I ruined it.

But really I'm not.
