A previous thread inspired me to set this one up.
I typed in "People's Friend" into Google and the list page came up exactly thus:
Peoples Friend is a very popular weekly title, With lots of captivating fiction, a dash of crafts, a sprinkling of gardening and of course a good dose of ...
Dose of what? Suggestions please.
I'll kick things off with "vigorous goat probing".

It's like a "sprinkling" except that it makes a sound less like the delicate fall of light particles and more like the heavy thud of a dead body.
