Title: Another Pantomime... Valentine's Day!

Yet another commercial merry-go-round. I know you don't have to spend a fortune on cards, (I saw 5 cards for £2 the other day in a local shop - it didn't say Valentine's Day cards were included, mind, but I don't see why not).

The trouble is, they never say what you actually feel, but usually have over-flowery words, and sentimental mush. I was looking for a "Beggars can't be choosers" kind of thing, but haven't found that yet.

I don't mind a bit of romance. I'm going to sing a few ballads at karaoke tonight, and maybe do a bit of smiling and gazing into sparkling, appreciative eyes, but I've promised Lucy I'll behave. (She's stopping is as she has a tiring day in Glasgow tomorrow.)

Anyway, I have to get ready...

Why don't you take your good lady on a romantic trip up the West coast to the Hebrides and give her some jewellery?
Then you could sing "Lucy in Skye with Diamonds."
