Dating Services
I made a new friend this past winter through Toastmasters. She is single and gave a funny speech called “Someday My Prince Will Come – Really?” Some of us went out for coffee afterwards and I brought up the topic of online dating as one company’s slogan states that it matches you in 29 areas of compatibility. She said she had in fact tried that (she is a bank manager) they set her up with a Lazy Boy Salesman(chairs and couches that you pull a leaver and get a footrest) who proudly stated that he made $68K a year at the start of their date. Being a banker she was sceptical and the date didn’t go well.
I said, “It is too bad that that things didn’t work out or you would be sitting comfortably now.”

We take turns evaluating speeches and I got to do her Prince one. She started off wanting a man who was independently wealthy to one who just had a job; from a man who was drop-dead gorgeous to one who had teeth.
At the evaluation part I told her that most of us would have been trying to think of if we knew any suitable single men during her speech. “You mentioned that you would like a man with teeth, could you be a little more specific on how many?”
She too is an ex-Brit – we are the only funny people in town.
