I believe that any student who gets to the age of fifteen and does not know what "treachery" is, or a "scythe", or "peat" should be shot.

And any student, after having it explained to them that a perch is somewhere a bird sits, who then proceeds to celebrate their ignorance of the word by saying "perch, perch, perch" as though it's "cheep, cheep, cheep", should be roasted alive.

I will add to these rules as I go along.

When I fantasize about punishing students, I always recall the scene in "If" where Malcolm McDowell and his friends are caned by the school prefects. One of them, (the better to administer his beating) actually takes a run up .

I'm concerned that the majority wouldn't know how to spell "scythe."
