Title: Roger Kettle's Autograph
Post by: The Peepmaster on May 24, 2013, 11:17:49 PM
Is it worth US $25? (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Roger-Kettle-Scottish-Cartoonist-of-Beau-Peep-Autographed-Vintage-Cover-/370555748411?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5646d8003b)

In fairness to Roger, he's dearer than Roger Moore and Gerald Ford. Mind you he's got a way to go before he reaches the price of Fatboy Slim and The Proclaimers...now there are two legends.   ;D

Why is it $8.99 p&p when it's already got a stamp on it? What a con.

Good to know! I have signed strips so that's my net worth doubled.  :)

I've got a couple of signed strips too. To be honest, I didn't really want to cut the signatures of them. US $25 though... What's that in GBP?

Don't do it guys, don't sell them just now. You'll flood the market. I've got this crappy postcard I've been trying to get rid of on ebay for years.   ;)

I've just had a great fund-raising idea. We march Roger to a busy town square somewhere, sit him at a desk, and flog autographs to passers-by. A little investment in paper and ink required, obviously, but if we can sell at around a tenner a pop, we'll be quids in. Someone would need to keep an eye out for the rozzers, of course...

You expect to be "quids in" selling my autograph? How do those businesses of yours stay afloat?

A first day cover (printed in English) for a Japanese stamp from 1980, with the added autograph of a Scottish cartoonist, being sold out of Massachusetts.

That's... different.

Are stamps more collectible if they're signed by somebody from a completely unrelated field then? I might pick up some of these Football Heroes Stamps (http://www.royalmail.com/personal/stamps-and-collecting/football-heroes?intcampaignid=Promo_H_FootballHeroes) they're bringing out, and get them signed by Bruce Forsythe/Tony Blair/The current Wolves team.
