What will you be this year? I only had one event to attend where dressing up was expected and to that I went as a “tourist to Mexico”. My sister had brought us a blanket and sombrero so it was a pretty easy look to pull off. Worked out nice too that that morning I had chased cows to sort them for 4 hours in the cold and had a bit of "freezer burn" on my cheeks - looked just like a suntan!

Welcome back, Diane!
I will be spending Halloween as I always do, skulking in a darkened house while trying to avoid the miniature beggars who are roaming our streets. I HAVE bought a bucketful of assorted sweets, just in case any of them get past the booby-trapped path to our door. I feel it's only right to reward ingenuity. I certainly won't reward any caterwauling rendition of some current musical abomination.

Welcome back Diane, thought I'd note the occasion with something special, eh sorry!

Otherwise, sitting surrounded by big bags of Haribo sweets but only a couple of guisers have called.
The recently decapitated deers head nailed to the door might just be too much? :)

Welcome back indeed, Diane.
I'll see Roger's skulking and raise him an empty house.
It's 9.45pm, and the Buttcheeks Brigade are just back from seeing the new Thor film (absolutely brilliant escapism, with superb one-liners). Halloween moochers annoy me so much, I bribed the family a few years back with the old "we could go to the pictures with the amount we spend on Halloween guff" line. The kids, of course, loved the idea, my wife scowled for a goodly while, but my persistence (and emotional blackmail of the kids) has paid off.
I haven't looked back since. (Well, other then to laugh at the sad kiddy faces, as we roar out of the driveway to the nearest Cineworld).
;D

Not strictly Hallowe'en, but this series always makes me laugh:

Thanks for the cheapskate but charming stories, the fab cake and the toons – nice little Halloween party we had on here. :) ;) ;D :D :)
We had ONE little girl show up at our door – some people in town had over 300 trick-or-treaters by 8:00PM. This has been the warmest October I have ever known here so I just left a tray of pop outside when we had to go to town. (It was all still there when we got back).
We watched the new 2013 movie Hansel and Gretel – it really was awful - but we kept with it because it was in theme with the evening.

My Christmas wish came early...welcome back, Diane :)
Sadly, I was not at home last night and missed all the munchkins. Out directing our panto rehearsal with 75% of the cast there but not too worried because I have money on the first time there's a full cast will be dress rehearsal. Rat no 3 rose to the challenge and did well playing King Rat, Rat no 1 and Rat no 2. I worried when he got into a bit of a tangle in the final sword fight against Dick Whittington but he certainly managed to convey all four against one in the ensuing blur...that boy is destined for the West End.

Rats? In Dick Whittington? I've led a sheltered life. I thought he had a cat.
Bloody recession.

None of my business of course, but perhaps if you want more rats to show up, you should bring plates of cheese to rehersals?
