And from me Mince-Boy! THAT'S why you've been hiding.
-
Thanks Tarquin. The birthday cake, the reminder, everything really. I don't think you could have done any more.
Thanks, Roger.
My friend's birthday is the same as Fergie's and mine is the same as Diana's. We found that quite a coincidence. Last week, I noticed that they had the Diana concert on my birthday, which I thought notable, until I figured out two days later why.

do like the cake wish we had thought of it
-
Belated best wishes, Mince. What are you planning to do, now that you life has begun? ::)
-
I have a father who as a teenager read literally hundreds of Sci-Fi books (we had shelves of these books when I was a kid containing nearly two thousand of them), but who has yet to learn how to spell or use capital letters or full stops in his writing. Perhaps I should work on that, given that I am an English teacher.

Not even on his own name.
Hello, Peter - welcome aboard!
-
Just because he read so many SF books does not qualify him to being able to spell.
Maybe he was told like I was to look it up in a dictionary.
As I used to say, if you dont know how to spell it, how can you look it up.
-
I see where he gets it from now.
-
where who gets it from
-
Happy Belated Birthday Mince ;D
Welcome Peter ;D
-
where who gets it from
The boy Mince, peter.
-
Thank Goodness you didn't say "The boy minces, Peter".
-
So it's get pete week
Well see if I care

So it's get pete week
Er...no.

Actually, it's become a tradition here to pick on Tarquin. (By the way, who won last year's prize for that?)

You'd have just been limbering up last year, Mince - I didn't join the forum until January of this year.
-
What kept you.

Who said we were picking on you on the forum? Notice any tiles missing from your roof? Any strange things happen over the last year or so?
-
yes I have tiles or slates missing but not to worry the council are putting on a new roof
-
No, that was aimed at Tarquin, hence the quote. You'll get the hang of message boards eventually.
Didn't I pay for the guttering?
-
No we paid for forty years
I have been trying to follow the postings but like Roger I dont know how

Oh, come off it! No one's as bad as Roger.
-
It's these things in the blue blocks I dont know how
You did tell Roger how to do it
-
It's these things in the blue blocks I dont know how
I read that twice as "It's all these things in the blue socks . . .".
-
thought you were moving

For newcomers to this board, I feel obliged to point out that two of it's members (i.e. Mince and peter) are related by birth.
This information may assist you in making a modicum of sense out of the previous half dozen posts, and a number of others throughout these forums. It is not always apparent which is the parent (see what I did there?), but if you can just go with the flow, it all gets less disturbing after a while - a bit like a good anaesthetic.
-
it's members
No apostrophe needed for "its".

I bought that apostrophe from Tescos - had to use it somewhere.

LOL!
By the way, Envy says she really likes you.

Oh, dear. Sorry - I'll try harder.
-
Just make sure you do.
Do you listen to Hancock?
-
Just make sure you do.
Do you listen to Hancock?
I thought he died about 40 years ago. Unless you mean Nick? The answer's no to both anyway, although I've enjoyed many of the old Hancock classics in the past, and especially his film, 'The Rebel', which was a huge influence on my artistic career.
Why do you ask?
-
Regarding relationship between Mnce and me can you prove that statment
I think that others on this board are related ie:- Diamond Lil and Roger

Yes, but neither of them would seek to deny it.
-
But it could have been the milk man
-
Yeah, man - it could have been the milk!
-
I have only the good wifes word on it.
-
Tarquin - one of my previous moderators wrote about his childhood sweetheart, the whole thing taken from Hancock. It was clearly satirical, but Envy fell for it and even tried to persuade him to find her again. He tried subtly to let on that it was a joke, but she missed all the clues. When I finally told her, she vowed to hunt him down and do nasty things to him.
-
Er...is that some kind of a warning, Mincey? I'm going to have to go check over everything I've written now, but I believe it's all very firmly grounded in the truth about my life.
Which may actually be a good deal worse than anything Hancock wrote about.... :-\ Oh, 'eck!
-
LOL! We do have a Moderator Relocation Program.
