Title: Pancakes?

This is the one day a year I make those flat crepe style pancakes with lemon and sugar.

Wonderful stuff  :)

I had everything prepared, Diane. We usually kick off with savoury pancakes (chopped Spam or chicken tikka - we're traditionalists), followed by the lemony sugar ones for desert. But my better half got home from proper work and decided I was taking the whole family out to a nearby restaurant.

So it's Pancake Wednesday tomorrow! YAY!!!!

I forgot all about it, only to be reminded by my daughter. We are now doing pancake Saturday ...which apparently includes baking bread.

Wonder if they need me at work again this weekend?

I did Pancake Monday when a friend asked me could I show her how to make them.  Her almost-4-year-old came too and was keen to find out what lemon juice tasted like....just wish I had had a camera because the little guy's face said it all!

Well maybe it`s time to make it more than one day - Pancake Week - I like the sound of that.

That is too bad you missed a first taste of lemon.  <- One of those things that taste great as you get older.

How right you are, Diane, about changing tastes as you get older but I felt I couldn't reassure him that one day it would be perfect with gin and tonic (at least not in front of his mother)
