"it" - there was just one was there?

I think there is a minimum list of irritants before you can start a thread. One is okay if it is a black bear breaking down your screen door - for flies, I think that there needs to be at least 5 or 6.

Damn again. Yes, there was just the one. A massive big thing with a hatred of windows and flying in straight lines. Had there been 5 or 6, I fear that had they have mastered formation flying, I may not have been here to complain about them.

My bluebottle could spank a black bear.

We used to call police "bluebottles". If there had been 5 or 6, that would have been the Flying Squad.
