I intended to surprise my wife with chocolate covered strawberries, except that she ruined the surprise by coming into the kitchen. So what did the rest of you get up to?
-
I made a nice meal for my hubby and daughter. We had a super nice cheese sauce to go on some broccoli - really felt the need to make a nice sauce after watching "The 100 Foot Journey" yesterday. I also did a fruit fondu for dessert - this was a bit different/weird, but I melted down a chocolate Easter bunny.
We thought about going ice fishing but with our boys not making it home none of us wanted to bother.

Ooh, we watched that. It's really good, isn't it?
-
It is a beautiful film for sure - timeless.

I'd rather hear about the ice fishing, Diane! When I see anyone doing this on television, it always looks spectacular---the frozen lake, the wonderful background scenery and the bizarre big corkscrew thing to get through the ice. Do you do this often? What do you target? Char? Pike?

Surely that would make it a xmas gift not a Valentine's gift? That would be like giving someone a Chocolate Bunny for xmas. Two holidays covered with one gift. ;)

Rainbow trout.
Photos are from last year - that is my son Steve who likes that sort of thing. As he didn't make it home this weekend, we didn't bother.

Also, I bought 4 liters of chocolate milk when I thought Steve was coming home. To use half of it up I think I invented a new dessert: the chocolate rice pudding. I think it is the kind of thing that little kids may like. :)
