So let's say you have these sentences:
Beau Peep is an amazing cartoon strip. It's actually probably the best.
Now let's say you want to put the second sentence in brackets. How would you do it?
1. Beau Peep is an amazing cartoon strip. (It's actually probably the best.)
2. Beau Peep is an amazing cartoon strip. (It's actually probably the best).
-
I'd do it in crayon.
-
You can use crayons?
-
Well it is the best so why the need for actually and probably!
I'm not allowed crayons......long story!

Was it a long crayon?

If the brackets contain an entire sentence, then the full stop goes inside too, (if it's a continuation of a sentence then the full stop goes outside).
And in reality no-one, with the obvious exceptions, would give a monkees elbow. I am fairly sure that I have managed both versions on more than one occasion, and eyelids remained unbatted.

Who are the exceptions? The Yankees?
-
I was going to pick one but spent so much time trying to get the blue links to work.

Hey Hey, we're The Monkees...

Sometimes I draw a blank on the spelling of really simple words. The brain just goes to sleep for a while.
Apparently, Roger once mixed up ""life sentence" with "death penalty" in one of his strips and ended up with "life penalty for cattle-rustling", though I guess that's hardly surprising anyway so I'm not sure what my point is there.
And I can't spell negligee, which is why I don't insult Sandy as often as I might.
-
Beau Peep is an amazing cartoon strip (it's actually probably the best).
-
That's just wrong.
-
I know. It should be:
Beau Peep is an amazing cartoon strip (it's actually, probably, the best).
-
Can I have a semi colon instead of brackets?
-
So out of two choices with brackets, you're going to choose the one with the semicolon. I see how it is.
And yes, a semicolon would be fine there.
I'm not even talking to Tarks. >:(

;D

And I can't spell negligee (which is why I don't insult Sandy as often as I might).
If you insult yourself at all, let alone not as often as you might, your ability to spell negligee is the least of your problems.
-

'Cos you know I'm right. And if I'm not, I don't care.

Inability (tut!).
-
No, 'ability' is short for 'ability, or lack thereof'. (*nono*)
-
I guess you would know.
