Vegans and vegetarians are 'furious' after the Bank of England confirmed that their new polymer notes, released in September, contain tallow.

Anyone with any concerns about this should send them to me and I'll dispose of them for you.

:o ;D ;D
-
You're not supposed to eat them.
-
Yes, I have to say I agree with you all. People get offended so easily. Next you'll have muslims getting offended at cartoons. ;D

This could get ugly.

Nah! He probably considers himself more Scottish than American, and I consider myself more 'accidentally vegan-like' than vegan, because I avoid animal products for health rather than ethical reasons.
If you want an ethical vegan, look no further than Morrissey: "I see no difference between eating animals and pedophilia. They are both rape, violence, murder. Imagine, for example, if you were in a nightclub and someone said to you, ‘Hello, I enjoy bloodshed, throat-slitting and the destruction of life.’ Well, I doubt if you’d want to exchange phone numbers."
I have tried going fully vegan, and perhaps I ought to spend some time trying to understand the ethical stance of vegans, but I just can't stop laughing every time I watch this video and see chicks falling head over heels into a meat grinder. ;D

Actually, that's almost as repulsive as Morrissey.

I found Malc's video very funny. It managed to take the mickey out of both sides of the argument.
I'm not sure I understand the point of Mince's first video. Is this portrayal of stupid Americans aimed at Malc because he now lives in the States? These cherry-picked responses could be taken from any country in the world. I'm uncomfortable with the trend for comedians to take on a certain persona and then ridicule the people who respond to it. It's an easy, cheap shot and the main reason I have never liked the work of Sacha Baron Cohen. Is it funny to go to great lengths to create a ridiculous character and then mock the reaction?
Mince's second video is, of course, horrendous. I may have missed something but it's not clear to me what the end product is of this awful slaughter of young birds. Is it widespread? Is it from one particular company?

Perhaps you spotted some layer of humour that I missed. Could you give an example of him taking the mickey out of meat-eaters?

I didn't even watch past the first thirty seconds. I don't think Americans are stupid, and I agree with your assessment of it. I posted it merely to see whether Madmalc thought his video without comment was any more intelligent than mine. I hope it was not taken in any way other than a fun and thought-provoking one.

I have only watched a few clips so far from similar videos recommended by vegans. As I said, though I am mostly vegan in what I eat, I have not arrived there for ethical reasons. Having watched the videos of Michael Greger M.D. on nutritionfacts.org, I have arrived at the personal conclusion that I have been a stupid and unhealthy person for much of my life. And I wonder whether if I watch other similar videos recommended by vegans, I might come to a similar personal conclusion that I have been a stupid and uncaring person as well.
Is it widespread? I'm guessing the answer is yes.

Instead of watching the videos, my wife and I watched Legends of Tomorrow: this week had zombies! We're hoping to binge-watch to episode 6 tonight, so that we can flip back to The Flash episode 8 which crosses over with Arrow episode 8 and then Legends of Tomorrow episode 7. It's getting exciting!

Oh, come on, Mince! How can you not possibly see that the guy is also taking the mickey out of meat-eaters? He's making ridiculous claims while holding a raw steak in his hand! Please tell me you're joking.

Please tell me you're joking.
Fine, I'll watch the other 2 minutes 55 seconds and get back to you. In the meantime, here's some Ali G.

Holy crapola - that escalated quickly!!! Mea Culpa people - was just posting something I found genuinely humorous in response to Mince's fantastically on point comment that I understood to highlight how everyone can find something to be offended about - wasn't having a go at vegans - I find it strangely odd that we are the only species on the planet who will breed and raise other creatures simply so we can slaughter them in fact. Other things I find funny are the Germans episode of Fawlty Towers and Rab C Nesbitt that's not to say I hate Germans or support Hitler - nor do I go around pouring Domestos into the fabric softener dispenser of my washing machine - just in case y'all wondering.
However- in effort to try and win back the masses - here is a hilarious video about musicians - (and I am a musician - so REALLY not trying to offend Musos!! (Unless they are teenagers - I f**king hate teenage muso-angst!!))

Oh- and controversially - I actually identify equal parts Scottish and American :)

Superb!!

No offence taken, Madmalc. :D Like I said, I'm not even vegan.

He's given it up for Lent. ..0

I'd give veganism up for lint!
