...you may recall I wrote a song for my wife as a Christmas present, and promised [threatened] to post it here, so here it is in all it's whatever, words and music by yours truly, arranged and admirably performed by my brother-in-law, lyrics are below. I promise, this is my first and last musical venture [maybe]...

Stay within my heart
Even though it’s old and tired
And almost dated expired
Stay within my heart
If I can make you smile
My breath just runs away
And if I make you laugh
It’s like an extra summer’s day
Stay within my mind
Even though it often seems
That reality blends with dreams
Stay within my mind
Stay within my soul
It’s a place I rarely go
But it’s you it seems to know
Stay within my soul
If I can make you smile
My breath just runs away
And if I make you laugh
It’s like an extra summer’s day
Stay within my heart
Though the beat’s not always strong
I’ve never known it to be wrong
Stay within my heart

Beautiful!

(y) Lovely and touching, how did your wife react?
-
Thanks Tarks. As for my wife's reaction Diane, she loved it, of course it helped that it was her brother singing it. I struggle with it a little, a bit too weird hearing something I wrote performed by someone [anyone]. It has got me writing lyrics/song again, but I suspect most will never be heard other than in my head. As it is I made my wife smile, so my breath did indeed run away.

Touching lyrics. Great job, Red!

That's a lovely song you've written for your wife. I'm glad you enjoy making her smile.

Wonderful... allowed us to see into your soul too

Thanks Roger. Making my wife smile is definitely a full-time occupation Mince, she does it so well and looks so beautiful when she does, it really is like bathing in sunlight. I suspect I am more of a right soaking in a thunderstorm but hey...
Wonderful... allowed us to see into your soul too
Not sure about seeing into my soul, but you definitely get a picture of my medical history, I guess it is a bit "heart on your sleeve" but I couldn't let the idea go once it burrowed down into my head. My normal stern countenance has since been restored.
