Anyone remember 'Absolutely' , the Channel 4 comedy series from the early 90's? It was a sketch show with a mostly Scottish cast and I reckon is one of the funniest shows ever made.
My favourites are John Sparkes' characters - Frank Hovis ('on the lavatory with Frank Hovis') and the old man (Bert Bastard) and 'Man with a Twitch'. Also look out for the Stoneybridge councillors, and the Welsh couple, Denzil and Gwenedd. Brilliant stuff.

Good news if you were a fan as it's out next month on DVD. There's some clips on www.absolutelyandy.com/absolutely/videoclips/index.htm

Stoney Bridge!
One of my utter favourites!
"I like that wallpaper, but do you have anything that's nearer?"
"You're a doctor then? I'm a doctor now!"
There was a spin off with two of the characters which I believe was called Mr Don and Mr George.

Unfortunately the series was on when I was over here, but I did pick up on many of the sketches, maybe it was shown on satellite/cable or whatever.
I loved the Welsh couple, very Spike Milligan in tone, but didn't think the Little Girl monologues worked at all.

Was there an unusual welsh chap in there somewhere?

No, it was just a Welsh chap.

Loved Absolutely.
Calum Gilhooley, Frank Hovis.
Ah Shadwell, happy memories of him and his girlfriend Gravel.
Think he hoped for a Rhonda 500 motorbike.
Oh and the blind school dentist. ;D

Of course. I remember now. Thanks.
