Title: Headlines (Again)
Post by: Malc on September 03, 2008, 11:45:13 AM
This isn't a headline so much as the opening paragraph of a report today from the US.

Quote
A man shot and killed six people and wounded two more during a shooting spree that lasted a few hours and included a high-speed chase in a rural area north of Seattle, local police said.
The suspected shooter was arrested without incident at the Skagit County Sheriff's office

Without incident? It's as I feared. Six killings, two woundings and a high speed car chase have become routine in the States.

Looks like they missed the word "subsequent" out.

which can convert urine and sweat into drinkable water once it's functioning and allow the international space station to grow to six crew members.

I know I'm getting old, and it's been a long time since I had kids, but thought the only way to 'grow' new crew members was by procreation; what's converting wee got to do with it?
