Hello from Turkey, todays temp is a pos?t?vely chilly 39 degrees. We Scots are a hardy race, but we seriously are not built for this heat. I am currently languishing ?n a geek strewn internet cafe because it's a pleasant 37ish. Lots to tell, but too sweaty to type anymore.

It's only 31 degrees here in Manila right now...

I visited an old house the other day, in a small town called Silay, (in a sugar-cane area on the island of Negros), which had an ancient wooden ice-chest. Apparently the wealthy owners had their ice shipped over from America.

I'd have thought it would have melted on the way...

Ok. So am I being stupid here by asking how they managed to get the ice back? I'm presuming big, big ice ended up small ice.

I know I'm risking a facetious answer, but I don't care. This is the type of inquisitiveness that got us out of the trees you know.   ..0
