Title: Cemeteries
Post by: Mince on September 27, 2015, 10:55:17 AM
I think they should be banned and opened up for children to play on.

With buckets and spa... perhaps not.

Well, obviously clear the place out first: we don't want a repeat of Poltergeist.

Gotta disagree here, firstly kids already play in cemeteries, they're fun places for any shooting game for example, or even better hide and seek.   Secondly there's a lot of history, at least in older cemeteries and there are sad folks [like me] who enjoy the quiet peace and tranquillity whilst learning [fr example] about the only slave buried within church grounds in the Isle of Man.

Yes, but how often do you visit compared to how often the kids would visit. I guess we could have a kind of showdown between kids and sad gits.

Never had that much competition, maybe kids don't play in them like we did, no wireless etc, I used to think a cemetery at least gave a true history, but that theory went south when my brother arranged the headstone for our father, and got the age wrong, but given he [our father] was at best a miserable git, maybe it was wishful thinking...

I have given this great thought and have come up with the perfect compromise or solution. Build theme parks over the cemeteries, so that while the parents and grandparents are having a quiet stroll, the kids can enjoy themselves on rides. You could have rollercoasters looping the loop and still leave all the ground below for graves. I'm a genius!  8)

You truly are. Just think of the Ghost Train! Not so sure about the Tunnel Of Love though.

I don't see why not. Lots of people get married next to a bunch of old gravestones.

That's no way to talk about the Bride's family!
