Title: Static Electricity
Post by: The Peepmaster on March 29, 2008, 02:14:03 PM
For the past few days, I've been getting frequent shocks from static electicity. Usually from my laptop, but I've just had one from the washing machine door. I don't usually get them. Can it be caused by a medical condition?

Clearly electricity hates you as well.

Static electricity... static footballers... there's a theme 'running' here. (How ironic).

Mince, you've just gone back to the bottom of the pile for those deserving of a mug.

The negative electron static is jumping at you because you are too positive. Either start being more pessimistic or stick your fingers into a light socket.

It's caused by something you're wearing. Man-made fibres attract electrical charges much more than natural fibres like cotton or wool.

I get more electric shocks from door handles when I wear my mixed-fibre woolly sweater.

Try rubber insert soles in your shoes, that should solve the problem.

*sings* Ahm a sole MAN, di dut dur urrr, di dut dururrrrrr...

Or just don't touch anything.

It's in the house, so I'm wearing rubber as usual. I prefer flip-flops to slippers.

You're right. I can now never think of Mince without thinking "bottom".

You should increase your fluids Peepmaster.

That's not what his counsellor says.

I heard if you increase fluids whilst getting your electric shocks, that helps. Get your next of kin to tell us if it works.
