Title: The Calendar Thingie
Post by: Roger Kettle on July 21, 2008, 09:43:40 PM
I've just stumbled on this by accident. Well done, Diane! I'm assuming you did this. Did anyone wish Joan a Happy Birthday? If not, I'd like to send belated greetings.

Diane, have you been setting Roger up again?

Happy Birthday Joan!

I had forgotten about the calendar thingie - I sure don't remember adding all the birthdays - boy I must be good at this.  ;D

Were you perhaps drunk at the time?

It's near the top of the page beside HOME, HELP, FORUM and other stuff.

Well, thank you, Roger and Diane - I'd forgotten about it (the calendar) too.  I did once look at the calendar thingy though, and it must add it automatically, because it had my exact age.  Naturally I increased it to some ridiculous figure, rather than pretend I was just a young thing.  I'm actually in Singapore at the moment, on my way to bonny Scotland (Manchester first, I'm afraid).  Feeling a bit woozy, (may have been the cocktail I had on the plane on the way here) but only another 17 or so hours to go.

Can you warm the place up a bit? It seems to have been awfully cold there lately.  Haven't been over in summer for years - was hoping for just a little bit of warmth!

I've set fire to Tarquin's house. I hope that helps.

I did the same with mine; although, most days, I do feel the age that it says.

It's about 30C at the moment - too hot for me but it may suit you.

Er...I live in Shropshire these days, Mince. I sold my house in Scotland to some enormous Italian geezer with a dark suit, shades and a seven inch scar down his face. He made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I'd hide your matches if I were you.

Only for the past six years. You weren't to know.

Diane, do you have people in Manchester, or was that merely the destination prior to jumping on board a connecting flight?

Joan, Malc---it's Joan.

Well, I don't know about Diane, but I was jumping on a connecting flight, except I nearly missed it because I was sitting at the wrong gate - was not very impressed with Manchester airport.  Not that that had anything to do with me being last on the plane - more likely the fact that I'd been travelling for 30 something hours and was coerced into having several champagnes on the last leg and not going to sleep until the last six hours or so.

Oddly enough, I can recommend this course of action - I have had very little jetlag so far - maybe the copious quantities of champagne killed it.

Recognise this place, Roger?  I have to say thanks for turning on the heater whoever did it - weather so far has been gorgeous.

Um...well...it appears to be Anstruther, according to the name on the fish and chip shop. This is about thirty or forty miles from where I live and I think I've been there once. I, of course, was at the lobster and pommes frites shop.

I'm a bit concerned about the middle window above the Anstruther Fish Bar. It doesn't look right. Was there something wrong with it, Joan?

Happy Birthday, Jack! Well, two days ago. Happy Birthday, Vulch! Well, tomorrow.

I assumed that you would know Anstruther, Roger, seeing as you live in Fife, but that's a big assumption to make.  I didn't know half the places 40 miles from where we used to live in Scotland.  The only reason we picked Anstruther was my husband's great grandparents lived there before they went out to Australia.

The fish and chip shop is supposed to have the best fish and chips in Scotland, or some award like that.  The queue was certainly long enough to get in, so we didn't test them out.  Would rather have had your lobster and pommes frites.

You're very observant, Peeps.  I didn't notice that.  My sister, being the cynic that she is, said "It's just the reflection."  Very odd.

Happy Birthdays, Jack and Vulture!

I only did a time period of three months Colin - your birthday is in April. Also I know I didn't list some of the birthdays because I didn't know them and I'm sure Vulture, although oldish, is not that old!

I've just put in the birthdays that I know up until the end of 2009.

The ones I put in are listed as "Event" in green are are only good for one year. I think the system must be putting in the ones listed as "Birthday" in purple and they are carried forward to future years.

If your birhday is not on the calendar, and you would like it to be, please check over your personal information and make sure that you have imput your birthdate details.

I was just skimming through some old topics and I came across this. Thanks for the birthday wishes, peeple. You see, I spelt "people" as "peeple", in reference to the site being for "Beau Peep". This is probably the nearest I've ever come to making a pun on these boards.

Anyway, yes, thanks. It was very nice of you to wish me a happy birthday even though it had been almost two months since my last post. Much appreciated.

We only hope that we have encouraged you to post more often.
Any old thing will do for this lot.
