I received an email from the moderator of a US cartoonists site today. In it he tried to debate a point that he felt was contentious and he was simultaneously supercilious and obtuse. I've included his last two points, with my replies in red.
and your assertion that cartoonists are no longer able to do their work (or are leaving their jobs) because US politics are "beyond satire" cannot be backed up with any evidence anecdotal or otherwise.
Neither can the existence of God, but he/she remains an interesting talking point nevertheless.
Please feel free to continue to post comments, but do try to base those opinions on something.

The mad stalker is a woman who I upset on another site some years before, and who has never really got over it. She is a tragic character, she's in bad health and her husband died recently, so I don't take any reciprocal action when she posts her venomous rubbish. She basically cruises the threads until she sees a post where she can take a swipe at me, then she'll drop a bit of innuendo, such as (I'm paraphrasing) "be careful you don't get banned from yet another site, like you did at Cartoon Capers Malcolm". (I made that site name up)
As I've never been banned from any site, this is a particularly galling thing for someone to say, so I'll reply with "now now, up to your old tricks again, you little, er...trickster you" when what I want to say is "LYING BITCH!!!!!"
She will then counter that the moderator of Cartoon Capers did ban me, I will politely deny it, all the time hoping that it doesn't descend into a childish tit for tat thing, then she will apologise - not for spreading lies, but for getting so angry that she let her high standards of behaviour slip. She'll switch gears from outright venom, to passive aggressive to playing the victim with lightning speed. It's quite impressive, even when you're on the end of it. Mad cow.
I even emailed the moderator of "Cartoon Capers" to confirm that I had never been banned from his site. He happily did confirm it but also revealed that not only had the mad cow in question herself been banned from Cartoon Capers, she was STILL banned to that day!
Apparently she spent an inordinate amount of time emailing him to complain about various members comments and what she saw as attacks on herself and her religious conservatism. He got fed up with her, told her to get lost and blocked her password and I.P. (or whatever mods do).
So add rampant hypocrisy to cyberstalking, lying and generally being a horrible person.
The guy I referred to in the opening post above allowed Mrs Madbitch to make her accusations with no censure, no warnings, nothing, and I am still angry to this day about it. For him to then email me peronally with instructions on how I should write my contributions was the last straw.

I'm not being a holy joe here, but she is to be pitied rather than feared, she is the worst type of religious right wing zealot, her son was a marine in Iraq and she virtually paid his fare there, she was so proud of what he was doing for his country (killing dusky-skinned heathens).
I first encountered her weird thinking when she burst onto the boards at "Cartoon Capers" announcing that she had set up an online cartoon syndicate and promised cartoonists they'd be making $10,000 before the ink had dried on the contract.
Naturally she wasn't going to attract any actual talent, but a few trusting souls signed up with her and basically went through a few years of slow death, waiting for their ships to come in.
Mrs Madbitch also writes a cartoon strip of her own, illustrated by another lady, and it features a middle-aged right wing churchgoing woman as its central figure, who has virtually no friends, an absentee husband and a son in the military.
It's very courageous, I think, writing so far outside what you know.
I could go on, but I'm already bored talking about her, god knows how YOU lot must feel.

If you must address her, you could repeatedly call her a silly name of your choosing (and you must use the same one each time) until she realizes you are not annoyed and are making fun of her behavior. For example: "Lambanana, this is not the way I see things."

If I remember my English lessons in school, we were taught that statements or comments enclosed either end by commas could be taken out and the resulting sentence would still make sense. It was called something obscure - Mince would probably know - but that means (God! It really hurts me to type this..) YOUR sentence DOESN'T make sense and Mince just may be correct! - sorry, I have to go and lay down for an hour or so to recover..

Calypso, I never paid Mrs Madbitch any attention at all, I DID ignore her, even avoiding threads where she was posting. It didn't work, because she was obviously just waiting for the right opportunity to jump in.
