My heroes are left-wing politicians; poet musicians; people who stand up for the poor and downtrodden; people who fight fear and ignorance and people who celebrate; give dignity and hope to humanity.

Roger you are one of my heroes.

People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

The first heroes that came to my mind are the volunteer bush fire fighters, except for the ones who join up because they are pyromaniacs (sp?) and actually start some of them - not many, but it has happened.

Spike Milligan's daughter has been in the local paper a couple of times recently, Roger.  She lives just down the road from us.  She's written another children's book, I think.  Sounds like she had a very unusual childhood with Spike, not surprisingly.  One of the things that stuck in my mind was that he would strap an old sofa to the roof of the car and the kids would sit on it and he'd drive around showing them the countryside.  ;D
