What else have cartoonists named in society?
« on: July 25, 2009, 10:43:43 PM »
Kate just asked me why hot dogs are called hot dogs - so I googled:

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_are_hot_dogs_called_hot_dogs_if_they_are_not_made_of_dog_meat

Just made me wonder if cartoonists brought any other words into common use.
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

I used to pronounce Acme as "ace - m" in my head... :-[

By the way, Happy Birthday to everybody I missed - been a bit busy lately... Retire on Friday though... (well from full time work anyway)

You're retiring? Good grief, woman, you can only be about forty! Anyway, enjoy it and give my best to the guy in your house who was forty one last week.
