Preparing to Head Back North of the Border.
« on: September 23, 2009, 09:14:17 AM »
I'm really beginning to miss the rain and cold weather. Yesterday, I went into Ramsgate, and people were sunbathing, swimming, sitting out and dining alfresco etc... I know this heat wave can't go on, but I'm hankering to be back in the land of crap beer and deep-fried mars bars.

Went out early last night, as Mum hadn't cooked anything. She's been out of hospital for two days now, and has carers coming in to tend her needs. Anyway, she hadn't cooked anything for my tea, even though there are only two steps down to the kitchen from the living room. (There're one step up on the way to the loo, and she manages that alright with her zimmer frame.) "You can cook yourself some eggs, if you like", she told me. Well, thanks, Mum, but I can cook my own eggs in Scotland!

I've been down for two weeks now, and that's surely long enough for anyone to put up with.

Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

You would think that the NHS carers could throw on a few extra potatoes for you too. THey can't say they didn't see you as they must have had to step over you at some point.

They come quite early, between 9 and 10.30, so I'm in bed.

I've just bought a little pressie for Lucy. I've been away from her for two weeks while I've been with my Mum. It's a shame she's had to suffer that.
