I met some Daleks today.

...outside Sheffield train station.

Not sure why they were holding such an obviously kid-friendly promotional event at a time when most kids were in school though.

Anyway, I thought Mince might be mildly impressed.

I think you'll find that one of them was Mince!

Well then, he'd have met me, and been even more impressed than I anticipated.

Ah, but were they the new Daleks, or the old ones?

They were all shiny and new. There was a white one, and a red one, and a yellow one.

John Parrott came over from the snooker to have a look too.

Here's a picture of John Parrott:

Obviously, not from today.

Are you sure it's not from today? In that picture it looks as though he is contemplating whether he likes the new or the old Daleks.

Did you see any other celeb today, Jack?

I'd really like to see Daleks trying to play snooker. Might take a while.

Are you sure they weren't Nissan Micras?
I apologise, in advance.

Not unless you regard Nicholas Briggs, voice of the Daleks, as a celebrity. I met him and he's a very nice chap indeed.

For the football fans here, my favourite part was probably this:

Quote
Dalek: Sheffield Wednesday will be exterminated!
Presenter: Well, they might be relegated...
Dalek: RE-LE-GATE! RE-LE-GATE! RE-LE-GATE!

followed a while later with

Quote
Dalek: Citizens of Sheffield -We have invaded your City! Daleks are the masters of Sheffield! But we cannot save Sheffield Wednesday.
Dalek Chorus: They are Doomed! Doomed!

I do however accept that this is probably only amusing if you take pleasure in the suffering of Wednesday fans, as I do.
