Wanna hear the Eagles in their punk phase?
« on: April 25, 2010, 11:16:08 PM »
I was surfing and came across this link to an Eagles concert at Golders Green Hippodrome in '73. Boy, do they sound raw pre Hotel California, after which they got all lush and over-produced.
They do sound like a punk band, with a bit of trad country and some great pickin' thrown in.

I guess that is a "no" from me.
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

I tried to play this, Malc, but it came up "error" so I'll take your word for it. I still like "Hotel California", though.

OK, sorry to make this a bit harder, but if you go to this page, just under the clip on breakdancing
http://crooksandliars.com/node?page=1

and head to the bottom you'll see this:

"Our sister site Newstalgia has The Eagles, live from The Hippodrome, London 1973 in concert. Classic original lineup."

Crooks and Liars is one of my favourite sites anyway, of you're into US politics, so it's worth a bookmark

Still an error on the Eagles video.
I don't know if I want to bookmark that site though. I love reading about and watching all that "stuff" on political and corporate America. I just don't think it's good for my health, it all makes me that angry.
The Michael Moore movies.
"Enron, the smartest guys in the room."
"Who killed the electric car?"
"Right America feeling wronged."
The absolutely chilling "Jesus Camp"
All excellent documentaries, and all guaranteed to make my blood boil for all I find them immensely interesting.
How come you don't see any right wing documentaries showing their policies and ideals in a positive light?

"Blue Gold the world water wars" is very similar to "Flow" I think. It's been shown all this week on my cable network.
Scary stuff.

I can't watch it, because our ds has downloaded far too much stuff this month and we're about to use up our allowance and be throttled.  >:(
