Apologies for my absence.
« on: September 28, 2010, 09:27:45 AM »
Been battling a bug for a few days and that, combined with trying to get my work ahead for my holiday (I leave on October 7th) has meant ignoring the computer recently. I may be quietish over the next few days but will try to pop in on occasion.

I hope you'll be feeling normal (as normal as anyone on this forum can be...)  in time for your holiday.  :-*

A lot of programs have minor bugs. Just try to work around them. Ignoring the computer just because one of its programs has a bug seems a little excessive.

I'm sick too Roger. Snotty, awful head cold. I was supposed to be giving a speech tonight at Toastmasters about democracy - but bugger the lot of them I say.

People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

That's not really much of a speech, Diane, but it is to the point, (albeit illegal), I suppose.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

Surely bugger the majority?
I apologise, in advance.

Probably maybe start with "Unaccustomed as I am..." as well.

But avoid the toast, "Bottoms up!".
I apologise, in advance.

Brings to mind that great old Two Ronnies sketch, where the Reverend Spooner intended to make the toast, "Raise your glasses to the dear old Queen"...
I apologise, in advance.

Look after yourselves and get better soon, Roger and Diane.  I find that a wee dram of Dalwhinnie is the best medicine for those sort of bugs.  My sister very kindly brought me a new bottle all the way from Scotland.  :)
