Roger's answer, as it stands, doesn't go with either of my questions:

"What do you send your letters in, Roger?"

and

"I'm going to Manila in a couple of weeks, Roger. What does that word remind you of?"

Fish might be the same singular and plural, but most words aren't!

Did he ever actually put the stress on the second syllable of 'envelopes', making it the verb? Anyone?
