These type of epic shows are the only ones that I think are worth the money and travel to see on the big screen. The dragon looked awesome at the theatre - we all five of us went as a family, and as 2 of them get sea-sick with 3D, we watched the regular verson.
I bought a multi-region DVD player before xmas, and have been buying some UK classics – Dad’s Army was great (60% of us thought so – incidentally the same 60% of us that also enjoy 3D, wonder if that has anything to with it). Anyway, I bought “Porridge” after reading about it here and it shipped super fast – I do remember the music and the characters so I must have seen a few episodes, but was pretty young at the time to appreciate it. Looking at it now, it is brilliantly written and timeless – witty but also with a great deal of fairness, heart and social responsibility. Who would think that was 40 years ago it first aired.
