My world just got a little brighter...
« on: December 13, 2014, 05:01:46 PM »
...it's amazing what ten minutes [and a few bob] spend on Amazon can do, in this particular case books 8,11,12,14,15,16,18 and 19 of...Dilbert...just kidding, Beau Peep of course, other than 1 to 4 I have the rest, but those early ones are a tad expensive.   I've been working on it and have concluded that on average:
  • it takes eight to ten Beau Peep strips to stop me contemplating choking to death the next idiot that crosses my path
  • eleven to fourteen strips to reprieve a customer I have mentally at least sentenced to death
  • fifteen to twenty covers all things relating to...relatives
  • twenty-one and over gets me to that place where wacky backy used to transport me

My conclusion therefore, and I hope you'll forgive the familiarity here Roger, is that I'd like to thank you and Mr Christine for keeping me out of jail and occasionally in a state of grace with the world.

Very kind words, Red, and I thank you for them.
"Read 21 Beau Peep strips and get a legal high!"
That's our next promotion sorted...

You're welcome, credit where it's due, Beau Peep and a couple of others [dare I mention them?  Okay, the Perishers and Andy Capp] are the visual equivalent of my sound heroes, Jussi Bjorling, Beniamino Gigli and Mario Lanza.   I'll avoid the tactile equivalents if you don't mind, at least one of them has to be illegal, or should be.   Might as well finish off, for smells I'll have the scent of fresh pine, my wife up close and rough seas, and for taste; a sherry trifle, satsumas and my mothers bread and currant pudding.

Nice steal on the promotion idea, and of course I'd love a free copy of Book 21  ;D which also got me thinking, is there anything which improves once it's legal?

That should be the title of the musical "Beau Peep Changed My Life"

Occasionally I like to muse a little too, Dennis would probably want one for Christmas so he could ride it to the pub.   Has anyone else noticed the striking similarities between The Nomad and Ernie Wise and the plays what he wrote?   Both short and hairy and allegedly they have never been seen in the same room together...
