Streaming "finds"
« on: November 23, 2021, 05:14:25 PM »
With all the new streaming channels, it is great that every time you sit down to watch TV that you are actually watching something you want to see and hardly ever any commercials.

I usually have at least heard the titles of popular shows I have never watched but "New Tricks" was new to me and I have really been enjoying the humour. It is great to discover an older TV series running for several years.

I am wondering if any of you guys have found some great old shows that you discovered streaming?

Sad to report that my viewing habits are rather restricted and boring. With a few exceptions, I tend to stick to sport and comedy. I have enjoyed the odd drama series---like Line of Duty and the current Showtrial---but I appear to have a limited attention span when it comes to anything that runs for more than six episodes. If I half-an-hour to pass, I nearly always end up falling back on an old Big Bang Theory or something like that.
In short, I can't help with any "streaming finds"!

I liked Line of Duty too. I even made myself a custom mug that says "No one makes mugs of AC-12" a quote by Ted Hastings

What I like about finding older series is that you know how many series there will be right from the start and don't have to wait a year to continue on with the story.

I found a recent streaming find - three seasons that finished last year.

Keeping Faith - beautifully filmed in South Wales, gorgeous music track and a plot that is twisty and intelligent.

Yes, one of my Covid telly highlights, Diane. With music throughout by the brilliant Amy Wadge. I have her Keeping Faith album on my phone, and listen to it often. Wonderful songs. Brilliant series!

I apologise, in advance.
