Valencia u10 played their second game of the season today against Annerley. The day started badly with an atrocious warm-up. I gave them a simple drill do get the blood flowing - stand in a circle and kick the ball across. One kid stands in the middle and tries to intercept.
The kids didn't seem to be able to take a touch of the ball, and passes were either a hundred miles an hour or weak as a gnat's fart.
Things didn't bode well, but I got a good look at the opposition - not too many tall kids, but a couple seemed to be Ronaldos or Beckhams in the making. If we could keep it below 15-0, that would be progress.
I would have been happy with a loss in single figures, but we ended up WINNING 2-1! I honestly don't know what happened between the warm-up area and the game, but I wish I did, I would take out a patent on it.
Am I a great coach or what?
