Cricket.
« on: July 15, 2008, 01:20:01 PM »
I'm off to Leeds this weekend to take in a couple of days of the Second Test against South Africa. I shall be quietish on here as I try to get my work ahead and then absent from Friday till Monday. I'm really looking forward to drinking some beer...er...I mean, watching some first class cricket.

That would be odd as you usually spend weekends in bed.

Darnit! I'll be gigging 'darn sarf' in Wokingham this weekend, or I'd have offered to help you dri...watch cricket, Roger. My brother lives in the Leeds area, so he could perhaps substitute? Then again, he hates cricket even more than I do...and doesn't drink much either. Not a lot of use - sorry!

I hear Mince might be in the area though...
I apologise, in advance.

Funnily enough, Leeds is the one place I won't be this weekend, Roger. Enjoy the cricket. Hope Mince doesn't spoil it by streaking on the pitch.

I'm glad that I wasn't bored enough to read a thread entitled "Cricket" until today (Monday) or I would have been missing Roger while he was gone.

Okay, I'm home safe and sound. The cricket was remarkably dull so I abandoned it for my hotel room on Sunday afternoon to watch the golf. Mostly, I behaved very well. My first beers of the day never touched my lips until six or seven p.m.---around eight hours after the rest of my group got stuck in. I find it extremely sad that I have become "the sensible one". Shudder.
Anyway, it looks like things have been quite lively on here so I'll go and do some catching up.

Did the straw get a puncture then?
