I'm fine, Roger. Thanks for thinking of me - just been a bit busy and didn't even look in for a few weeks. Even since I started looking in, it took me so long to catch up reading initially, and I have all these replies stored up that will now never get posted, because (you know what I'm like - waffler incarnate) I'm just not getting the time at the moment.
Touch wood, we haven't had any bushfires around here this summer - there's still time - but we're still reeling from the ones down in Victoria. Daughter Kate is down in Melbourne at the moment with a friend, for Fashion Week, of all things. They had an earthquake yesterday apparently - about 4.something on the Richter scale, but Kate said they didn't feel it. I went to a shindig up at the local community centre a couple of weeks ago in aid of the Victorian bushfire appeal. Good fun, but Slide McBride and his Band, although very good, made it very difficult for us gossips to chat. They started off with jazz, but then obviously had a look at the majority demographic and played a lot of Stones and Beatles stuff. There was an auction (I talked too much, and missed the things I could afford, like the cases of wine.) and a raffle (I never win anything, apart from many years ago in a Tamworth pub, when I was visiting friends for the day, and I won the Friday night meat tray. Didn't go down very well, a non local winning it.).
Anyway, Happy belated Birthday to all the people I missed - Diamond Lil, Tom, I think and anyone else. Promise I won't stay out of it for so long again - time is just flashing past, isn't it? Thanks again for your concern, Roger.
