Junk Mail Takes a Worrying Turn
« on: April 15, 2009, 11:19:56 AM »
I've just had an email with the subject line:

Write me back, bastard

The actual message just says: Our company claims amazing 40%off disounts on heart treating branch goods.

Last week I got one with the heading:

Were you drunk? Answer, bastard!

The message this time was advertising, (probably counterfeit), pills.

Why are junk mailers starting to abuse me in such a way?  :-[

Peeps, I think everyone who knows you talks to you like that - it's just that they're becoming more open about it!

I'm amazed you opened them, Nige---isn't this kind of stuff potentially dangerous?

I could probably be wrong, Roger, but I think you can open them, but don't click on any link or reply to them...  ???

That's how I found out I've got millions of US dollars waiting for me in a nigerian bank account that is being blocked from being sent directly to me by the nigerian mafia. All I've got to do is phone someone in Nigeria with a few details and they'll send it to me. I also have to pay $98.00 admin costs  ..0.

They also sent me a link to MyQuakes...

It's awful when your own Grandma tries to reel you into these pyramid schemes isn't it.

Roger's been trained to ignore the kind of junk mail he gets, like, "Want to get FREE Viagra Or Cialis pills?", "Revitalize your pork-monster!", "Lose weight faster and easier than ever", and "Hi Roger, this is Mince".
