The well-travelled
« on: May 12, 2010, 04:01:27 PM »
There seems to be a lot of us who have travelled well (although this does not necessarily mean 'aged well').
Can we pass on our recommendations of the one place/thing/event in a country that we should not miss (or even the event or place or thing we should avoid at all costs, when planning a holiday or excursion.
e.g.
Paris: Visit the Eiffel Tower at night.
Egypt: Don't take the Camel ride to the Pyramids.
Cyprus: See the ruins at Salamis.

Get the idea?

Wasn't there a name-dropping thread like this not so long ago?
I apologise, in advance.

That's what I was thinking, Tarks---something like "The best place you've ever been to".  Actually, I think I started it.
One place I don't like is Carlisle. Don't ask why---I just don't like it.

I misread the second option as Holiday Billericay.

Boracay is beautiful, and has become really popular, primarily in Asia. TripAdvisor just made it "best beach in Asia"

I think I may have been there when I was a kid. They probably changed the fat in the deep fryer by now.
