Lola-The Kinks #5.*Top Of The Pops-70s*
From "You Really Got Me" through "Waterloo Sunset" to "Lola" and beyond, The Kinks produced some wonderful stuff. Ray Davies is up with the greats.

I never really got into the Kinks. I know Waterloo Sunset was voted Best Song Ever in some serious ligger poll, but still....

I love the Kinks too. I was lucky enough to see them at a Manchester Uni Rag Ball in the '70s.

My top '60s bands would be The Beatles, Hollies, Bee Gees (prior to all that falsetto crap), and The Kinks.

I sang this in a Manila gay bar recently, and it went down a storm:

Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

I love that song, but sadly they don't have it at the bar I sing at in Rothesay.

Here's one that I usually sing every week:

Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

When I was down in Kent, a local authority named a lot of streets after 1960's bands and singers. There was a Kinks Walk, and a Doonican Drive for example.

I always felt sorry for those living in Johnny Johnson and the Bandwagon Avenue.
