Can I be first to say welcome to Diane, our newest member apparently.

Well, that's according to the email that just arrived from the Beau Peep Notice Board Team. You really were right about your dial up being slow, Diane. I just never realised it was that bad.

 ;)

I am on high speed right now, but don't congratulate me yet - it is the one that is $85 for 10GB and then $51.20 per GB after. I got the hub free and two months at $10 for 10GB + $51.20 each GB thereafter. I am a bit scared to use it too much.

I have some leads on two good deals but - the one with the closest tower that increased in hight by 30' after the storm took out the old one, couldn't help me after the site inspection. These other two companies have towers that are further away so not much chance - one seemed quite keen though and offered to throw in a 20' pole on top of our house. Fingers crossed.

The high speed is quite magic isn't it.  :)

People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

High speed is excellent. Just downloaded "Alchemy" by Dire Straits (purely as a back-up for the several other copies on various formats that I have legitimately purchased, of course) in about 1m 10s. You have to love decent speed broadband. For hard to get music, film etc. it's just the best thing ever.
