Make sense?

On a book by someone Ryan, it says, 'He is the only man who can help save . . .' But surely if he's helping to save, there are others who are also helping, so he can't be the only man.

The word "help" clearly refers to the savee and not the saver...

Maybe its a grammar mystery. Ryan's character just dropped a big clue.
