Term-Time Holidays
« on: April 06, 2017, 08:24:22 AM »
A QC for education chiefs has told the Supreme Court that taking a child to Florida for seven consecutive days during term time without a school's permission cannot on any view be lawful.

I wonder how many parents of unschooled children are laughing at this.

I'm sure they're not all as unsympathetic as you.
I apologise, in advance.

A DfE spokesman said: 'We are pleased the Supreme Court unanimously agreed with our position – that no child should be taken out of school without good reason.'

A spokesperson for those who educate their children outside school said: "We fart in your general direction."

I think I might start a website detailing useful hacks for getting away with taking kids on holiday during school term, a site that enables members to create and keep track of imaginary relatives and friends, when they become sick and when they die, and accompanying proof to deal with headmasters who believe their opinion about children's attendance is in any way important.
