Who wants another wildlife story?
« on: January 02, 2023, 11:36:37 PM »
I have a cage for my birdseed bells, a mink opened the cage and ran off with two seed bells over the holidays. I caught it in the act the second time.

My solution was to put a lock on it lol

I make my own seed bells these days for about one third the cost of store bought - plus they are more nutritious as I use peanut butter and enriched budgie seed.
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

Great stuff, Diane. I'm always amazed at the variety of animals and birds that roam around your property. By the way, I'm still waiting for your first Bigfoot photo!

Ol' Bigfoot has reportedly been seen from Alaska down to California, passing through Canada, Washington State and Oregon. It also pops up in loads of other states and is particularly active in West Virginia.
I have no idea if it's on holiday or not.

I gather he's even been seen sunning himself on the shores of Loch Ness with his pal.

Diane, you're taking a big risk leaving the key in the padlock. He's just biding his time, the little mink-key (see what I did there?). Your birdseed bells look scrumptious!

I apologise, in advance.

I took the key out LOL

One of the best books I read in 2021 was The Long Walk: The True Story Of A Trek To Freedom by Slavomir Rawicz. Published 1956 “The harrowing true tale of seven escaped Soviet prisoners who desperately marched out of Siberia through China, the Gobi Desert, Tibet, and over the Himalayas to British India.”

There is a bit in it that sounds like a yeti spotting to me.

I read the book because of the Ed Harris movie “The Way Back” 2010

There was no Yeti spotting in the movie and neither was there a musical bear - for those things you need to read the book.

How can you make a film of a book and clearly miss out the best bits?

It's easy if there are no best bits - Harry Potter comes to mind.
