The "Goal" that Wasn't
« on: September 22, 2008, 08:36:53 PM »
Did any of you lot see this "goal"?

I'm all for spotting when a ball crosses the line marginally, and giving a goal, but shouldn't the incident be between the posts, at least?
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

The worst part for me is the fact that the Reading players/manager just went along with it. If they were my team, I'd have instructed them to let Watford score straight from the kick-off so it was level again. Very poor sportsmanship.

Still, it was funny though. Apparently the linesman who made the decision is going to be "receiving operational advice". I presume this is ref-speak for "sent to the Blue Square Conference Southern Division"
