I've been in some great Wetherspoons, e.g. Paisley, Lytham, Ayr, Glasgow, and a grotty one - Margate.
They do sell a great range of cask ales, and sometimes fab food.
I once flew in to Glasgow and had a mixed grill + pint deal-of-the-day that was about 50p (might have been slightly more.) The plate (the size of a satellite dish), was loaded with chops, sausages, steak, egg, chips etc. Stunning value.
