Film Music
« on: January 11, 2024, 12:15:53 PM »
I have put off watching Disney's Jungle Cruise for a while because the reviews suggested that it was a bit naff. But I watched it a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised. In addition, there was a part of the film - a flashback narrated by The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) - that immediately resonated with me because of the music by James Newton Howard. I played the scene back again, slightly annoying everyone else who was watching the film, because it was so good.

Here is the amazing scene from the film. If you do not want to spoil the film, the music video follows. In both YouTube videos, the music becomes even more amazing from about the two-minute mark:

And after I found the music on the internet, I discovered that it's based on a Metallica song called Nothing Else Matters.

Nothing else matters is a great song :-)
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

Enjoyed the music AND the film clip!
Talking about Disney, I was dancing with my granddaughter today to the music of "The Jungle Book". She seems rather taken with "I'm the King of the Swingers".
