DDC...Mince...it's a novel idea...but wrong...

Many thanks for the kind words from one and all, DDC works for me, I obviously wasn't thinking too clearly when I came up with the long version, but I'll keep it as a reminder about keeping it simple, talking of which, how are you "Your Majesty"?  Well I hope.

As for being a retired accountant I'm not, I more sort of escaped just over a year ago and got into something else by pretending not to be an accountant.  Now I interact with other people, use words instead of meaningless numbers and say thank you every day to anyone's g-d who cares to listen.  Now even my wife likes me...which is truly weird but very pleasant.

I am looking forward, with a little trepidation, to my time here, and will try not to worship too loudly at the feet of Mince although that sounds more like a meal than a promise.

Mince isn't important, you know! He just turned up one day, rather like you have. We've all been humoring him for ages now.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

Denial is such an ugly thing, clearly Mince is the driving force around here...would it make you feel better if I went and found something funny you wrote?  I don't have too much time but I can try.

Actually I quite liked "There should be a semi-colon after spelistraffaladi." in the posting answers totally unrelated bit, surreal yet funny.

Changed my mind, I really liked "Mince's life is perfectly useful?" in the annual plea for help thingie, I may be fickle but I know what I like.   I guess his majesty just met his Nepal.

This is my last trip down memory lane, there are too many potential g-ds of humour here to stay faithfully in worship, as a last resort I can always post humorous accountancy anecdotes.

On foot. So he tells me. He must have an extremely long snorkel.

Yo, DDC!
I apologise, in advance.

I've never heard any posthumous accountancy anecdotes. Bring 'em on!

Well...as you asked so nicely, once I was adding up some stuff on a spreadsheet and no matter how many times I did it I could not get it to balance...turns out it wasn't a spreadsheet at all but the back of a cornflakes packet...duh!

Okay the game is up, there are no humorous accountancy stories...shame it took me twenty years to realise it but I don't recall saying I was funny or quick.

Welcome Dixie! I think you may be right. This forum must appear to so may as a bit of a cliquey lunatic asylum at times, that new blood feels alienated.

New blood? It's so much of a cliquey lunatic asylum that OLD blood feels alienated! Oh, for the good old days when only 4 people posted, and there were maybe one or two new messages a week. The good old days, before the board moved, turned fancy, and - of course - Mince turned up.

The other option is to hate football and like Doctor Who.

I like both, which surely means my posts are twice as valuable to this forum than anyone elses. Right? No? Okay then.
